About the Author

Matthew B. Vernier

I have been building inductors for 30 years and have enjoyed working in the induction heat-treating field. I began my coil-building career in 1979 and wanted to share my knowledge of coil-building with future coil-builders. Growing up in Michigan, near the Motor City, the auto industries had many suppliers with jobs available for young workers. The day I started learning the skills to build copper inductors was the day I found something that I enjoyed creating. As I near the retirement age, I want to teach coil-building techniques and skills to others who would like to learn this skilled trade.
