Private Label ISBN

Outskirts Press’s publishing packages include an ISBN. Some self-publishing authors prefer to publish under their own imprint (aka publisher name) to maintain full control over how their book is identified, discovered & sourced.

Some self-publishing authors prefer to secure their own ISBNs for full control over how their books are identified, discovered and sourced.  As an R.R. Bowker designated agent, Outskirts Press can help you reserve an ISBN in your name, for 20% less than if you purchased your ISBN directly through Bowker.

Publish Under Your Own Publishing Imprint (Publisher Name)

If you are looking to publish your book under your own imprint (aka, publisher name) but don't yet have your own ISBN, Outskirts Press can help—and save you money, too.

As a designated agent of R.R. Bowker, Outskirts Press is able to request single ISBNs on behalf of, and in the name of, self-publishing authors who select our Private Label ISBN service.

A single ISBN will be assigned in the name you select for your imprint and the ISBN will be owned by you. Your imprint (not Outskirts Press) will be identified as the publisher of record for your book.

Publishing under your own imprint is an excellent way for you to establish a platform for your book which exists separately from your personal identity.  This opens up a broad range of marketing opportunities and the ever important keyword associations which help readers find your book.

Self-publishing authors have many reasons for using an imprint but brand building is perhaps the best one there is.

Once assigned, an ISBN cannot be returned. All ISBNs are non-refundable and an ISBN cannot be transferred, sold or given to someone else. You must live in the United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam or Puerto Rico to be eligible to own a Bowker ISBN.  By completing and submitting the ISBN application, you are acknowledging that you have reviewed and agree to the US ISBN Agency terms and conditions.
