Author Information...

Author Wu Sing-yung (Wu Xingyong) obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Washington, Seattle, and a M.D. at Johns Hopkins University. He became a Full Professor at the University of California, Irvine. His research and clinical interest were in thyroid hormone metabolism and thyroid diseases. He also has a keen interest for modern Chinese history stemming from his father’s role in the National gold reserve. He has authored and edited five books tracing the facts surrounding the gold secretly shipped from the Shanghai National Vault to Taiwan from 1948 to 1949 during the Chinese Civil War. He adds to the scholarship surrounding the movement of gold and establishes Dr. Wu’s position as the leading authority on certain clandestine elements of this transfer of gold.
