Product description...

A masterly written novel about the heart wrenching clash of the Native American way of life and the beginning of the American push of civilization

This is a fictional historical story of the People, a Comanche nation, and a tribe known as the Buffalo Eaters Tribe still existing in a prehistoric condition. A chilling story of the beginning of their destruction as an independent people.

These few thousands of the People who lived and died on the plains had no formal writing records, and stories were told and retold of Comanche warriors who stood out among their fellow human beings as being more brave or having the twist of fate acknowledge their existence.

These strong men and women, the People, ruined the Spanish dream of an empire in North America; stopped the French advance in the Southwest states; and most importantly, they delayed the western advance of an American conquest for many long years.

Most of the People were simply scattered bands who wandered throughout their existence. This is a story of one of the many tribes. This band, The Buffalo Eaters tribe, led by their strong Warrior Chief Two Bears, begins with the Buffalo Eaters attacking a Crow village and capturing a young male child.

It is a brutal story with each chapter telling of a new and dangerous happening. These were brutal times and the People’s judgments were often a scene of continuing brutalities. This story is of a different time in the early history of our beloved country.

As you follow the lives of Two Bears, old Crooked Nose the strong Medicine Man of the tribe, Running Wolf the Chief’s adopted son, along with his “brother” wolf throughout their life, you will be transported to a different time in our history; you will feel what life must have been like as one of the true People.

Author Information...

R.A. JantzenSince She was a young child, Ruth Ann Jantzen has had a love of Native American history given to her by her father. She and her father would often sit together in the evening and he would tell her stories of brave Indians and western stories that he heard as a child. For most of her life she studied Indian culture and is familiar with much of the history that has been written about the Native American customs and way of life. She is most interested in the healing practices and herbs used in the 1600’s . Ruth Ann has had this story in her mind and heart for decades. After spending four years living in Arizona, and feeling the desert and land surrounding her, she once again picked up pen and paper and became determined to finish her dream of a Native American historical fiction book that would transport its reader back in time to a Native American way of life. Ruth Ann is again residing in the Hudson Valley of New York among her extended family and her loving dog, Riley. She is now writing her second novel, Buffalo Eyes, that should be finished in the fall of 2020.
