Al Krautter grew up at his parent’s nursery where they lived on site. He was educated at Cornell University, entered the family business and changed the operation from a chemical approach to an all organic approach. He was president of the New York State Nurserymen’s Association. He spent all of his life in horticulture and is a known speaker on Natural Gardening. His first book, 12 Steps to Natural Gardening, was voted Barnes & Noble book of the month in 2012. Al Krautter considers 12 Steps to Reverse Global Warming his most important contribution.
