Product description...

These Things Are Written That You May Believe…

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:1, 14). With those simple yet majestic words, the Apostle John began his gospel. The purpose of the final of the four gospels is found in John 20:31, “These (things) are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.” “Come and see” was the first of many invitations that Jesus gave to the young fisherman from Galilee. The gospel invites the readers likewise to “come and see” the Light of the World … to taste the Bread of Life … to drink the thirst-quenching Living Water … to enter the Door to the sheepfold … to see an empty tomb … to believe that Jesus rose from the dead. The Gospel of John is the deepest of the gospels and the most contemplative of all of the books in the New Testament. For seven weeks, come and see every morning and evening that Jesus is the Christ by reading through this dynamic study. In The Gospel of John, One Day at a Time, author Timothy McKeown offers a devotional designed for everyone, but especially new believers, to dig deeply into John’s account of the life of Christ. For the New Believer: This book was written just for you. If I could personally join you in a Bible study about the gospel written by Jesus’s closest friend, it would be this study! Together, we would learn an amazing story about the Son of God and how John, as a young man, first met the One who was called “the Christ”. In the next seven weeks, we will explore the basics of faith, eternal life, and how being “born again” gives us new beginnings each day. For the “not-so-new” Believer: Have you wondered why the Apostle John waited so long to finally write his gospel? Perhaps John “tarried” so long (John 21:22-23) so that his life-long insights could be appreciated by those of us who, like John, have served our Savior so long and faithfully. Yes, this book is also for you. If you believe that the rest of your life can be the best of your life, let’s see why John shows us that Christ saves the best for last! “Come and see.”
