Product description...

A story of hope from Wakonda Prayer House, a small place in the woods that hosted life-changing counseling to all who visited. It’s the story of Rev. Wingert’s dream of a place of healing in a world filled with pain. It’s also the story of forgiveness for the Author, with the help of the 12-Steps of A.A. Joy is in the heart of this survivor.

“Without hesitation I endorse Rainbows of Joy from a Diary of Despair by Lynn M. The writer gives hope through opening herself up to the Promise. I highly recommend this book for those suffering with a loved ones addiction or other addictions. As a 40-year member of Al-Anon I found the book refreshing and spiritual. Lynn M. is remarkable in identifying the journey and her own recovery through living the 12 Steps of AA as a way of life.” —Annetta Sanow Sutton Author, Speaker, Spiritual care Professional Catholic Alcoholic: A Witness to Addiction and Redemption

“The author of Rainbows of Joy eventually discovers her own bitter roots. There is plenty of engaging evidence here detailing the destructive process and available routes to healing. I recommend this book as good help to any and all who suffer long-term nameless anxieties or bitter relationships. Help here is on the way!” —Albert E Hughes, M.S., M.P.M., Oblate OSB Pastoral Counselor and Spiritual Director CoAuthor of: Escaping Anxiety Along the Road to Spiritual Joy w/ Rhonda Chervin, PhD.; Professor of Philosophy and Spirituality

“Your book is a moving story of recovery. You will touch many lives as readers see themselves in your story of courage.” —Marilyn Van DeBurr-Atler 1958 Miss America, Author of: Miss America by Day

Author Information...

My writing career began at the age of 10 by chronicling a family trip for 100 miles in 1948. I wrote a story in third grade called Bertie the Butterfly who was hit by a truck and lived. It became a metaphor for my life as I was run over by the truck of family alcoholism and I survived. In High School Literature Class my teacher told me a story I wrote was good enough to publish. I married and raised a family, two daughters and a son. I began to write poems when depressed from the alcoholism in my family. After divorcing my alcoholic I spent seven years in recovery to build up my self esteem with the help of Al-Anon. It has become a way of life. I have been a Tri-Chem Paint Instructor, teaching others how to paint on fabric, wood and velvet. I was a stay-at-home mom during the turbulent years. Later I was a PALS volunteer librarian and a Truck Stop Asst. Mgr. on I-80. After divorce, I attended college and worked at a magazine fulfillment center. I was a facilitator for a divorced/widowed recovery group which helped in healing the pains of divorce. I volunteered at Wakonda Prayer House Retreat Center near Griswold for many years. I have enjoyed gardening and reading and entertaining grandchildren. My husband and I have 8 children, 14 grandchildren and  38 gr-grandchildren between us.
