Erica Washington McDonaldErica Washington McDonald-Rozier was born into the family of Booker T. Washington and Sarah Meriwether Nutter. She earned an Associate's Degree in Language Arts from Mott Community College. She transferred to University of Michigan to complete a Bachelor's Degree in Education which led to fulfilling her dream of giving back to the community in which she was reared, Flint, Michigan. She has since earned a Master’s Degree in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College, Educational Leadership Certification from the University of West Georgia and an Educational Specialist Degree in English from Kennesaw State University. Ms. McDonald was selected a Macy’s Jones New York in the Classroom Model Teacher in 2010. She was an active volunteer who used her time and talents to build children with Precision Auxiliary Corps and Youth Against Violence. Since then, Erica has founded a non-profit organization, Treasurechest Learning Systems. She assists youth of all ages with exploring becoming a young man or young lady in a challenging society through character education, etiquette training and mentoring. She has 18 years of experience working with children. She is dedicated to helping teens follow their dreams. Erica is an active member of Kappa Delta Pi and National Council of Teachers of English. Erica Washington McDonald published Up from Slavery Children’s Edition: Growing Booker and continues to write and present as an author and educator.
