Once your audiobook is published with Outskirts Press, it is distributed through the world's largest audiobook distributors and retailers (like OverDrive, Findaway, Audible, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, Google Play, and many others). Your book will also be available to libraries around the world through services like Findaway, Hoopla, OverDrive and others. YES, you receive royalties when a library "rents" your audiobook.
Benefits of Publishing an Audiobook with Outskirts Press
Outskirts Press will handle all of the details from finding you a narrator (based on characteristics you request such as age, tone and gender, so you can be sure to get just the right voice for your story) to submitting your audio files to our extensive distribution network.
Our audiobooks have universal compatibility so they can be used by any audio player.
Your audiobook sales will be reported in your Publishing Center; alongside the sales of any other editions you have published with Outskirts Press (like paperback, hardback or eBook) and paid to you quarterly.
After publication, your audiobook will continue to receive extensive distribution and availability on dozens of audiobook platforms for just $4/month (and, if you also publish an eBook edition with Outskirts Press, the monthly eBook distribution fee is waived).

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I record my own audiobook or provide my own audio files?
Audible, the leading audiobook retailer, highly discourages authors from recording their own audiobook—unless you happen to be a professional voice actor. If you do happen to be a professional voice actor (or you already have professionally produced audiobook files), our Audiobook Distribution Only services will be a better fit for you.
For most authors, an experienced audiobook narrator who is proficient in the specific requirements of audiobook production and with access to professional studio equipment to maximize sound quality is your ticket to a professional audiobook.
How long will it take to complete my audiobook?
Ultimately, this time frame depends largely upon the length of your book, how long the audition process takes, your narrator's schedule and how long it takes you to review your files; but, in general, the process takes between 9 weeks and 6 months. This timeframe includes the time it takes for your audiobook to go through the distributor's and retailer's quality review processes.
