Essential Copyediting

Essential Copyediting is designed for a completed manuscript that is ready for detailed editorial attention before publication. Your editor reviews grammar, punctuation, spelling, contextual word usage, clarity, and consistency while respecting your individual voice.

Editing time depends on the length and complexity of the manuscript. A typical copyediting project can take up to four weeks, although many are completed sooner.

Essential Copyediting Pricing

Essential Copyediting is 0.024¢ per word, with a $360 minimum covering the first 15,000 words. For manuscripts longer than 15,000 words, the remaining editing fee is calculated from the manuscript's word count.

Editing is performed on digital manuscript files. The full editing fee must be paid before editing begins.

You Stay in Control of Your Manuscript

Editorial recommendations are provided using Track Changes in your manuscript file. You review the editor's suggestions and decide which changes to accept or reject, helping preserve your story, message, and individual voice.

Editing involves professional judgment and does not guarantee a completely error-free manuscript. Outskirts Press currently provides editing for English-language content.
