Inspired, she began creating faith-based messages, Bible studies, and now this devotional to share hope and inspiration with others. Christen lives in Chesterfield, Virginia, with her husband and has two grown daughters. Her passion towards serving and youth has led her to volunteer with her church’s youth ministry and coordinate a monthly worship service for teens awaiting adoption/receiving therapeutic support at a nearby facility. In her spare time, she loves reading and spending time with family and at the beach!
Reading this book so far has been really meaningful for me, not just because it's a devotional, but because it’s my mom’s. What I love most is how real it feels. I’ve seen her live out the things she’s written about for my whole life, so reading it is kind of like getting a closer look at how she thinks about her faith and the things she’s learned over the years. It doesn’t feel like something she just wrote, it feels like her life, her experiences, and her heart are all put into words. I also really like how she connects Scripture with music. That makes it feel more relatable and honestly easier to connect with, especially because worship music is such a big part of how people experience God. It fits her style really well and makes each section feel more personal. Some of the stories she includes from church, family, and everyday life make it even better because it shows she’s not just talking about ideas, she’s actually lived through things that shaped what she’s saying. That makes it feel more genuine and easy to relate to. Overall, it just feels like her. Encouraging, honest, and focused on loving God and loving people. I’m really proud of her for putting this together, and I think it’s something that can actually speak to people in a real way because it comes from such a real place.
