Reverend Father Dr. Matthew Ibok has reconciled the strategies of human conflict resolutions with the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke). He has located some solutions to pastoral challenges and conflicts in various religious institutions. He has explored and adapted the principles of the Synoptic Gospels to human conflict situations such as prevention, management, resolution, and transformation—which are the common professional approaches. By his Synoptic exploration Father Ibok can present the reconciliation that resolves some human conflicts from the roots.
Rev. Fr. Dr. Gerald Akata Lecturer: St. Joseph Major Seminary, Ikot Ekpene, Nigeria and Finance Administrator, Diocese of Ikot Ekpene, Nigeria.
A timely and insightful invitation to examine the root leadership struggles, misunderstandings, and divisions with faith communities through the lens of the teachings of Jesus. Drawing on the wisdom and pastoral sensitivity of the Synoptic Gospels, Fr. Matthew offers fresh perspective on servant leadership as a pathway to reconciliation and renewal of religious institutions. This book is both scholarly and pastoral—an invaluable resource for clergy, church leaders, and anyone seeking to apply gospel-based wisdom to the challenges of modern ecclesiastical and religious life.
Rev. Fr. Emmanuel S. Udoh, Ph.D. Visiting Associate Professor of Information Systems and Business Analytics, University of Albany, New York.
Everyone desires peace. Political leaders advocate for peace. Every religion preaches peace. Yet peace continues to elude the world in large parts. It is obvious then that there is need for a new approach to conflict resolution. Rev. Fr. Matthew Ibok, Ph.D., found it in the wisdom of Sacred Scripture. With careful exegesis and scientific research methodology, he has successfully put together from biblical sources what might prove to be the hitherto missing inspiration in conflict resolution and peace building. This book is, therefore, a must read, not only for pastoral ministers but also for all men and women who are seriously seeking to promote and preserve a peaceful coexistence among individuals and peoples. “Blessed are the peace makers…” (Matthew 5: 9)
