Author Information...

Amanda HincksonHello! My name is Amanda Hinckson, and I have an unwavering passion for storytelling, especially when it comes to children’s tales. Growing up in the Caribbean, where television was scarce and picture books limited, my imagination took center stage. The books I read, particularly those without illustrations, transported me to thrilling adventures. I’d immerse myself in the characters and place myself right in the heart of the stories—much like my favorite tale “Jack and the Beanstalk.” Now residing in Brooklyn, New York, I find joy in photography, drawing, and creating whimsical, entertaining narratives. My academic journey led me to Long Island University, where I earned my master’s degree in public health, I work in the diverse field of Social Services, which has taught me invaluable lessons about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. These insights inspired me to write my current book, A Tale in Kamau Park Island.
