Product description...

Bea Gold is a painter and woodcut artist who has expanded her creativity to include storytelling. She has written two memoirs, presented through the voice of a child. Her location is always New York City no matter where she lives! Her last book “Tell me a Story”, took the mother and child through 36 one-page stories, each with a painting illustrating the story.

“Shopping with Mama” takes mother and child through the 30s and 40s when there were no Super Markets. They shopped in the stores that specialized in a single category of food. The book treats each shop as a chapter with a woodcut illustration, a story, and recipes for the food sold.
