Product description...

I was told once you must first be broken, to be put back together. How true this statement is. Some of us live with a broken heart everyday and many people never find peace of heart or comfort in their soul. They just keep wandering lost and cover their pain with sins of the flesh and of this earth. Some of us try our best to find an end to the cycle of grief which invades us like cancer. Even then, merely a few of us discover the true answer is realized only with a major spiritual experience. I was very satisfied with my first self-published book, “To Heal a Tortured Heart”, and I’ve been given many compliments about how emotionally powerful it is, or how someone who’s hurting can identify with what’s written. I’ve also been called morose and self-absorbed, but the truth for my story is that it’s all helped me to get through what I’ve needed to, and my cathartic writing style has helped heal my broken heart and find refuge for my soul where it belongs, with God. I hope this second self-published book helps others to do the same. God bless you in your journey.

Author Information...

Ken HopstadI first started writing poetry in my junior high school calligraphy class. I loved that class and the teacher who taught it. He was one of those cool teachers the kids all liked and he played LP’s on his fold-up phonograph player during the class. Like music, writing became an outlet for me and became a friend. It helped me get through the fearful adolescent years as well as the horrible, angry, drunken years that nearly killed me. I know my poetry is not that brilliant. I know technically, it would never win any contest. I also know it’s the same thing over and over again, but there’s something inside of me that wants me to do this. It’s part of who I am, and this collection is part of my story. It’s also one of those things that if I don’t do it, I’ll regret it forever. The last few years have been very tough, and I want to personally thank all my friends who have been there for me and supported my writing. There’s much more to do and write, so I hope you enjoy this collection and I’ll stay busy putting my next compilation together. God Bless Us All
