This Kind of Love is......

The feeling you get when you find yourself walking slowly along the almost empty street in your neighborhood on a fall morning—the sun shines brightly, the leaves are so beautifully colored, the air slightly cool on your skin, but storms are in the forecast. The feeling you get when you squeeze your child so tightly, with the warmness of love only a mother can give, and your child says, “Mom, I can’t breathe!” through unmistakable laughter, but unexpectedly they are hospitalized, and you cannot touch them. The feeling you get when you fall in love in the springtime, but months later you are left alone, in the freezing cold of winter, by this kind of love. This kind of love leaves us wondering, why? This kind of love leaves us wanting more of something that cannot be controlled by the forces of nature. This kind of love makes the goodness of love vanish. This kind of love, for some, is the first love.

Pamela is a native of Washington DC. She attended DC public schools and attended PG community college. This author entered the healthcare industry in 2006 as a medical assistant and in 2007 gained employment at the George Washington University Hospital as a patient care technician until 2018. Pamela is currently employed as a Medical records coordinator at an area healthcare establishment. In 2016 she joined Toastmaster International earning recognition as a Competent Speaker as well as taking on leadership roles. Currently Pamela is an entrepreneur and has 3 grandchildren.
