Arvind Agarwal’s mother Kushla Agarwal, had always made sacrifices for her son. But when he was still just a boy, she made one of the greatest sacrifices of all, sending him away to live with her family to allow him to escape from his abusive father.
The book relates Agarwal’s inspiring tale of going from sleeping in a freezing car as a penniless teenager to being admitted to Harvard, earning his doctorate, and working his way to the top of his profession while raising two children. In an incredible career, he also started many successful businesses, spent over thirty years in politics, and was appointed as an election judge.
Sharing stories of a life lived to the fullest, Agarwal also recounts how he learned to fly, learn many languages, learn to sketch, traveled around the world, became a chef, passion about singing old Indian songs, attempted a Guinness World Record trip to visit every country to promote breast cancer awareness, accumulated a collection of international money and stamps that will eventually be donated to the Smithsonian, and always followed his mother’s example by quietly serving the needy with dignity.
