Product description...

Recovering in South Carolina after being seriously wounded during a running gun battle involving several members of a Mexican drug cartel, Paul Waring realizes his long and distinguished career as a criminal investigator has finally come to an end. Enjoying breakfast one morning with his closest friend inside a restaurant in Murrells Inlet, Paul is approached by a stranger seeking his assistance. Years earlier, Paul and his friends recovered a significant portion of the lost Confederate treasury. Comprised of millions of dollars in gold and silver coins, this lost treasury, despite being searched for by treasure hunters and Civil War buffs for over one hundred and fifty years, had never been found. Now, Paul is confronted by a complete stranger who claims his employer, one of the world’s richest men, has recently discovered a Civil War journal that was hidden inside a wooden chest once owned by a Confederate soldier. Inside this journal is a horrific story which documents the tragic deaths of several soldiers. As he writes about the devastating loss of his men, the journal’s original owner also reveals the location where the remains of three murdered Union soldiers have been buried. Captured inside this journal is a cryptic message which not only reveals where these soldiers have been buried, but where another portion of the Confederate treasury has been hidden. But then, as Paul and his team begin their search for this missing money he learns Simon Church, a billionaire several times over, has been found murdered inside his Texas mansion. As the search continues, Paul’s investigative skills cause him to uncover several deadly secrets connected to two previous murders. Both are related to Simon Church’s murder, and his shocking background.
