Things May Not Be What They Appear To Be

The professor continued, “When we discuss the concept of bending reality, and that our own perceptions have the power to create and bend that reality, then we begin to scratch the surface of what the mind is capable of and the infinite possibilities contained within it.”

Jake Jackson grew up in a small, unassuming town in rural Illinois. As he heads into his mid-twenties, his life seems to be following a predictable, comfortable path … until one fateful day when he has a chance encounter with a stranger on the back streets of Chicago who appears to be homeless—but things may not be what they appear to be.

Asked to take care of the stranger’s companion, a little dog named Milo, Jake is confronted with an unexplainable mystery when the dog he has agreed to take care of runs into an abandoned factory and vanishes without a trace.

As Jake does his best to make sense of it all, things seem to keep taking a turn for the worse, leading Jake down a dark road where he must question everything he has come to understand about what is ‘real.’

The only thing that all the unexplainable events seem to have in common, other than Jake, is the presence of a large, mysterious dark void—“The Nothing.”

With a growing sense that he may be running out of time, Jake races to discover what is happening to him and the world around him.

Scott is a tireless advocate of service to others as evidenced by his work for and with nonprofits. As an executive, Scott has served the nonprofit community for more than thirty years. He has also volunteered for well over twenty years with a number of nonprofits.
