It Came Out of the Lake, So It Must Be Real

Want to do something different on your summer vacation? Why not go on an expedition to search for something unusual like an unknown lake? Four friends do just that in The Amazing Beast of Hidden Lake. The story begins with an incident that occurs during the American Revolution in upstate New York. Years after the events a myth concerning an unknown lake and a lost diamond mine soon circulates throughout the area. The story continues into the present time period when 12-year-old David, an explorer in the making, reads of an unknown lake and diamond mine located somewhere near his town of Shadow Valley. He convinces his friends, Adam and Alex, to join him in finding the lake. David’s sister, Ellie, is invited to join the group. You, the reader, are also invited. Get into their canoe, paddle leisurely on Shadow Valley’s Half Moon Lake and soon become caught in a powerful current that leads to the unknown lake. Oh, and by the way, you may also experience meeting a very dangerous and unexpected animal. If you’re not prepared for this type of adventure, you might want to leave this book closed. This story is filled with suspense, danger and humor. It is of course fictitious, but the historical and scientific comments supporting the story are facts that the reader might want to research for him/herself.
