Author Information...

Margritte LindseyMy ancestry was the impetus for this fictional love story, “Ginny and Gordon, An Unlikely Love Story.” My grandfather was white and my grandmother was Negro (African American). They lived in Alabama during the severest racial separations after the Civil War. I often pictured in my mind what their lives must have been like; their love for each other, their joys, their fears, the rearing of their six children, and their community’s response to them. My grandparents interracial relationship was not one of hostility and utility, they loved each other. Each one had what the other needed to make their lives complete. From these thoughts and the melding of more current events, I created, “Ginny and Gordon, An Unlikely Love Story.”
