The Children of the Blue Nun is a novel based on an actual person who lived in the 1600s. She was a famous mystic, bilocator, and biographer of the Blessed Virgin Mary's unknown life and times, dictated to this Nun by the Virgin herself. She wrote a series of books titled "The Mystical City of God."

Author, Deacon Larry Torres, Professor Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, New Mexico, has condensed the Venerable Maria de Agreda's life into a dual-language novel in both English and Spanish and framed it within an American-Southwestern context suitable for its time.

Professor Emeritus Larry Torres is a Deacon of the Roman Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. He belongs to the Parish of La Santísima Trinidad [The Most Holy Trinity] in Arroyo Seco, New Mexico. He has taught for 43 years at all levels of education from elementary schools to Masters’ Programs at the university level. He taught various classical and modern languages and he was a founding father of the School for International Languages in Memphis, Tennessee. His academic teaching and accomplishments netted him many honors and accolades at the local, state, national and international levels. Now he is retired and living at home in Arroyo Seco, where he continues to pursue his passion for the printed and virtual word.
