Product description...

Lyric Poetry, accessible to the general public, is alive and well in the hands of Bob Kamm

There are many stunning poems in this collection but for me, Elie and the Blue Volvo rose above them all. It may well be the most important poem Bob Kamm has written to date.
--Barry Bernfeld, PhD, Co-Director, The Primal Institute

This book is a memorable journey, guided by vivid imagery, powerful verse and an unflinching look at what makes us human. Bravo!
--Dave Congalton, Host of Hometown Radio, 920 KVEC

Bob Kamm is an accomplished poet, no doubt about that, and we encourage everyone to read The Magic Hour.
--Harville Hendrix and Helen La Kelly Hunt, co-authors of Getting the Love You Want

Another New Jersey poet who found his way to California (Allen Ginsburg) wrote, “The Weight of the World is Love.” But in The Magic Hour, love isn’t the burden: it’s the buoyant force that lightens every load we carry, even sadness and outrage; that lifts us above the foggy confusion of our little troubles to a luminous height of clarity; that empowers the time-travelling heart to engage the past in a spirit of affection and forgiveness that recovers joy and heals what cannot be changed.
--Tom Villano, Boston University

Author Information...

Bob KammBob Kamm was born in New York City in 1947 and raised in the New Jersey suburbs. The son of two writers, language was the currency of the family. Unlike his parents, though, he was drawn more to verse than prose. His devotion to the true word and his rich life experience are reflected in the breadth of his poetic topics. This is his fourth collection of poetry and sixth book. He lives with his beloved Andrea--wife, lover, best friend and constant inspiration--on California's Central Coast.
