Two Boys with a War in Common

Two Boys describes the lives of two men born a day apart and half way around the world from each other. By nature this book is historical, but on a very personal level. For example, what did pre-teens think about the polio epidemic or how did a preteen feel about being a refugee. This book illustrates behind every headline there are real people just like us.

Edwin Mathisen was born and raised in western Iowa farm country, graduated from the University of Iowa and worked in information systems for three corporations over the course of three decades. Early retirement provided him with the opportunity to work as an adjunct lecturer for two major universities, continue to consult through Ed Mathisen Company and to become an author. His previous books are Observations of the Passing Scene and Meadowland Community Church. Ihor Bekersky was born in Eastern Europe and was raised in New York City. He earned a Bachelors degree from Hunter College and a Masters in Renal Physiology and a PhD in Biochemistry from New York University. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 - 1968. Dr. Bekersky pursued a career in drug discovery and development and has authored or co-authored over 250 publications.
