This is the beginning of a beautiful journey. A treacherous expedition swept with guilt and commitment. All glorious, all the same. This is no ordinary love story, but it is a descriptive depiction of the phases of love that one experiences throughout a lifetime. From the initial sensation of infatuation in our youthfulness to true committed selfless love of a partner to the bearing of your first child and love beyond life. Each moment of our own personal journey with love as our traveling partner, imprints an everlasting impression within our souls. Often these emotions are not dealt with and lost in a pit of unformulated expressions. Beyond this point, a course of events shall link each and every reader and myself to a process. Acknowledging and accepting the delightful and devastating realization of what is love in every facet imaginable. Be patient and kind to yourself in reading what lies ahead because you will want to judge and prosecute your actions and decisions without the satisfaction of knowing that each path we take is destined to hurt, heal and rebuild our character. Open your mind to your version of truth. Open your heart to your version of self-reflection and don’t fear what this makes you feel. And if this does not move you, continue to live and continue to love. Passion exists in all of us and with passion comes the ability to love. When you tap into this ability, cherish the best and the worst of it all. The experience is as valuable when it burns the soul with passion as well as when it burns with pain. Kia Arie is a closet writer whose biggest dream is to share her unique perspective with the world through the intricacies of writing. With expression as the overall goal, she prefers the genre of poetry which she feels allows her readers to experience life objectively. Kia’s debut literary project, The Distance Between Near and Far: A Love Journey, is a collection of poems venturing through the beautiful complications of love. She took the experiences of childhood, marriage, heartache, childbirth and also death as a map to reach the pinnacle of an era thirty years in development. Although she is deeply rooted in writing and has been since the third grade, she pursued an education in healthcare and allowed the resulting career support her family of three children while she has followed her dreams as an author. Born and raised in a small city in Texas, Kia remains in her hometown where she is currently rearing three daughters and working on a follow up piece to her newly released debut.
