Alexander Vetov, born and educated in Russia, then Holland and finaly in New York City, he came to love and embrace the U.S. as his home. As soon as he could, he joined the Mighty Fighting 4th U.S. infantry. Alexander almost married in England before D-Day. He was still a teenager when he made sergeant. As a sergeant, he landed on Utah Beach on D-day and continued fighting across France, rising steadily in rank, he led his men until the war’s end.
