Author Information...

DARIL BENTLEY is a graduate of Binghamton University and of the University of Denver Publishing Institute. He holds a degree in Literature and the English Language and studied with poet Milton Kessler of the Creative Writing Program while at Binghamton University. He is a veteran of the book publishing industry and is founder of Bentley Editorial Services. On staff and freelance, he has served as general editor, production editor, textual editor, and master copyeditor for many of the well-known poets of the day, national and international—including six U.S. Poets Laureate. His first project in poetry publishing was as Assistant Production Editor for the final editions of Allen Ginsberg’s Collected Poems, Howl, and White Shroud. He has also edited numerous poetry anthologies in these capacities. Mr. Bentley is founder of the Corning, NY, Poetry Reading Series and of POST (Poetry Outreach of the Southern Tier) in southern-central New York State. He has taught English, literature, and poetry in the public school system and as a literacy volunteer and participant in community literacy and poetry events. He is the author of ten books of poetry and has been published in numerous poetry journals, nationally and abroad. He has been a semifinalist for the Yale Series of Younger Poets Award and a finalist for the New Mexico Book Award for Poetry, as well as having received an Honorable Mention in the Writer’s Digest International Book Award for Self-published Poetry, among other honors. He resides in Elmira, New York.
