Rick would appear to have lived a relatively unremarkable life in most ways. Ups and downs, successes and failures, and movement through life without leaving a footprint of consequence. As we know, appearances can be deceptive. Rick encountered some incredible people who were able to express ideas and concepts that helped him look at life from a more introspective and humanistic perspective. He tried to apply them to his own life, sometimes with success and sometimes without. However well or poorly applied, he always wrote things down that he felt would be important to attaining a more positive, happy, and peaceful life. Although shared verbally with people throughout his life, he was inspired by near tragedy to try and reach out to as many people as possible with the intent to help find “a different way to handle a difficult time.”
