Balancing a personal life and a demanding career behind the scenes of the music entertainment industry, can be just as chaotic as a life in front of the camera. As a celebrity stylist, Vincent S Lake Jr aka “VJ”, juggled the two to the best of his abilities. Within his personal life, the choice of business over pleasure never seem to be an issue for him. But the women in his life thought otherwise. In the fall of 2005, Vincent went through a bad breakup with his girlfriend. He found himself looking for ways to cope with the pain and emotions he was dealing with. This is when he started channeling his feelings, transforming them into creativity. This creativity came in the form of writing. He penned his first story and shared it as a blog, for fun. To his surprise the story drew a reaction greater than he expected. His friends shared his first story with their friends and co-workers alike. This resulted with his friends requesting him to post more stories. Over a span of three years, Vincent wrote 25 colorful short stories which were posted on his blog. These short stories consisted of his previous experiences, ranging from relationship issues, love, and dating. Whether it was a triumph or an embarrassment; he own it. Vincent wasn’t ashamed of his truth. He wrote about it, and never held back. His approach to writing made a connection with his readers. Born and raised in The Bronx-NY, to his Caribbean parents, Vincent & Judy. He is their only son, hence his nickname “VJ”. Vincent has worn a few hats in his career. These hats include eleven years as a celebrity fashion stylist, certified personal trainer in the health and fitness industry and a Sergeant in the United States Air Force.
