Product description...

Stones In Me Pocket is like finding money — in all denominations

The quirky poetry in this elegant collection runs a wildly wide gamut from unrequited love to thwarted attempts at the spiritual; from elegies for friends and beloved but crazy relatives, to thoughtful reflections on death and satiric views on human nature. Discover a couple of paeans to the gods of love, political satire, and some nearly Japanese haiku mixed in with some very American haiku — plus a few boldly humorous stabs at our so-called culture. Illustrated with a number of striking photographs and charming pencil sketches by the author, Stones In Me Pocket is a must-read at any age!

“Love is not refuted because it comes to an end.”
~ Jack Gilbert

Author Information...

Joe Hannabach was born in Philadelphia. He studied art and piano at an early age, and earned an MA in English at Villanova University. In addition to his teaching career, he worked for the Defense Department and the Navy’s Supervisor of Salvage, editing and working with scientific and engineering studies in the growing field of oil-spill response. He’s published numerous poems in literary journals and two previous books: Autumn Moon — Two Trees, a book of modern haiku based on classic Japanese woodblock prints, and Old Mandolins and Other Poems. He has four grown children and lives with his wife, Cathy Lynn (also an author), in rural Gloucester, Virginia.
