Author Information...

J. S. NicklasBorn in Missouri on the leading edge of the baby boomers, J.S. Nicklas is the elder of two daughters. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).A graduate of Purdue University where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, she married her college sweetheart, and gave him two sons, now grown with families of their own. Her career path led her to become a professional fund raiser, beginning in a private school for gifted children, then in a social service agency serving developmentally challenged children and adults, then for a foundation which supported a performing arts center. During that time, her keen interest in horses led her to become an accomplished rider in hunters and jumpers. A penultimate volunteer, she was involved with the local Chamber of Commerce. She learned to network, which led her, over time, to become Chairman of the Board of the Chamber. During that time, she attended graduate school at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she earned an MBA in not-for-profit management. Today she is very busy writing her next book, the sequel to Songbird, while managing her farm, her horses, and her dogs.
