Excited to tell her boyfriend Ronnie Young, the love of her life, she is expecting their first child, Dawn is shattered when he tells her he isn’t ready to be a father and insists she has an abortion. Knowing she can’t go back to her abusive parents’ house, she escapes to the only place she has ever felt safe. Knowing their personal beliefs, she hopes they will accept her. Hoping he can persuade her if he can get her alone, a desperate Ronnie jumps on his motorcycle as it begins to rain. Determined to get to her, the storm gets worse causing him to lose control. He overturns his bike multiple times resulting in injuries which put him down for months. Stricken with depression, he contemplates taking his own life. Will Dawn and Ronnie be able to heal from all the hurt and possibly find joy and love for one another, or will both find themselves in a downward spiral, lost with no hope?

Melanie ChanceMelanie Chance is a cosmetologist and barber (and sales associate for a small town newspaper in southwest Missouri) by day and a writer by night. Married to her high school sweetheart since 2002, they have three children together. Being an avid reader, she always had a dream of writing her own books. Struggling with self-worth and anxiety after her own abusive childhood, she was diagnose with depression and has struggled much of her adult life with a hurt which has caused pain not only to herself but to other around her. Melanie decided to write in hopes she could reach others to encourage anyone struggling with depression to live their best life and to find a healthy way to release their pain.
