Victor Hugo Polanco Macias was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, on May 14, 1981. He migrated to the United States in 1988 with his three other siblings and parents. Pursuing the American Dream is never easy; however, it is not impossible. After graduating from Coachella Valley High School, Victor continued his education in a community college and then transferred to CSUSB. In 2003, he was the first child in his entire family to obtain a BA degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in psychology. Since then, he has been teaching elementary and middle school students within the Desert Sands Unified School District. In addition, he holds a master’s degree in Sports Administration with an emphasis in Coaching Theory.
Indeed, his journey as a writer began after high school, when he wrote his first poem, “True Love.” He continued to write as he experienced feelings and thoughts flowing in his mind overtime. He quotes, “My inspiration and ideas for each poem were written not with my mind, a pencil, or hand; they came from my heart,” leading him to his first poetry book, The Essence of Rejuvenating.
My representative Jamie was always extremely professional and helpful during the entire process of my book publication.
