Product description...

Although Joseph White regularly attended his Christian church, he was a skeptical believer who openly questioned most Biblical and theological teachings. During the 89th year of his life, however, things would change dramatically for him following an unexpected dreamlike visit from persons whose stated purpose was to prepare him for an important personal journey he would soon embark on. Less than an hour after Joe awoke from his vivid dream, he suffered a heart attack at his retirement home, then a second and fatal attack several hours later while he was hospitalized. After Joe passed through the swirling tunnel toward the glowing light, he arrived on an uncharted planet where he met a spiritual guide named “Adin” whose purpose was to prepare him for entrance into the Heaven community. Over the course of several days, Adin surprised and awed Joe, not only by the things he taught him about God and Heaven, or the amazing sights and miracles he showed him, but also by Adin’s playful sense of humor that blended seamlessly with his knowledge and wisdom. Eventually, though, Joe learned that Adin was hiding a mystery from him. That awareness interfered with Adin’s ability to guide Joe, and another guide, “Emerson,” was substituted to continue Joe’s spiritual tutelage. Although Joe worked well with Emerson, several of his questions were unanswered, including: What was behind Adin’s mystery? Why exactly did he have to leave Joe? What surprises lay in store for Joe when he entered the Heaven community? Thankfully, Joe eventually found answers to all his questions during and after his passage to Paradise.

Author Information...

Robyn G. WallRobyn G. Wall is retired and lives in Austin, Texas with his wife and two adolescent step-children. Before retirement, his career as a clinical social worker, psychotherapist, and director of clinical treatment programs spanned 43 years and five U.S. states. Robyn and the staffs he led provided clinical services to individuals, couples, and families, some of whom struggled with grief issues related to terminal illnesses or the deaths of loved ones. Not surprisingly, many of those persons had concerns and curiosities about the afterlife, and after Robyn entered his post-retirement years, he began to ponder over those same matters himself—a cognitive and spiritual journey that ultimately led him to write Adin’s Tutorial. Although Robyn is a lifelong Christian who has served as a deacon and Bible school teacher, this book is not meant to be a strict Biblical representation of the afterlife; it simply reflects Robyn’s personal views of what Heaven could be like. When a family friend asked Robyn if his new writing project would be fiction, he smiled and replied that since he wanted to write a dramatic personal story about the afterlife, he had no choice other than fiction because he could not get a pass from God to visit Heaven for theological research. As you read this book, you will see that Robyn’s sense of humor is imbued in Adin’s own personality makeup, thus making a serious literary topic lighter and more reader friendly.
