Alfonso Gamble Sr.Alfonso Gamble Sr. was born in Richmond, Virginia. In his senior year of high school, he was drafted into the Vietnam War, where he served multiple tours as an infantry combat soldier and received many awards, including the Combat Infantry Badge, a Purple Heart, a Silver Star, and the Bronze Star with the V device. After the war, he returned to Richmond, Virginia drove a city bus, and studied accounting at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. The father of four boys and two girls, grandfather of seventeen, and great-grandfather of fifteen, Alfonso is also the author of Looking at You, Finding Myself and MIA: Missing in America (Our Sons). His mission is to help others through the dark side of PTSD.
