Product description...

Inside the events that define a generation

"Witness for the Republic" takes a revealing new look at the critical events of The Cold War Era through the eyes of the Baby Boomer generation. Through a unique blend of personal experiences and accounts of those caught up in the events of that time, this book shows how their lives directly helped to reshape American society.
It also challenges the conventional view of the Cold War years, probing deep beneath the headlines to provide new insights into the lead stories of that tumultuous era. It is a firsthand account of many of the defining events of the twenty-year period 1956-1976, as well as an insightful look at the social revolution that created the modern world
From the Kennedy campaign to the Johnson White House, from Vietnam to the Civil Rights Movement, from Woodstock to the fall of Saigon, this unique book goes inside the events that forever changed America.
It also shows how the unshakable vision of the Baby Boomer Generation laid the groundwork for the digital age, the Women's Movement and the reshaping of American society.
