Suruba I. Wechsler holds a masters degree in business administration from Mercer University, Atlanta. She and her husband live in Atlanta, with their two children; in 1994, Wechsler and her husband adopted her late sister's three children. Wechsler’s memoir, “By the Grace of God: A Tale of Love, Family, War, and Survival from the Congo,” was published in 1999. She has spoken about her book – and life – at many schools, book clubs, and charity events, and has been a guest speaker on numerous radio programs including Voice of America and NPR/On the Line.
