Everyone has an opinion about our country's status...here's mine
We watched it happen!! Look at the culture in the United States and it is easy to conclude that it is in an acute decline. At the same time the situation is easily blamed on numerous causes that always fail to include any personal responsibility. Born during WWII, growing up during the Korean Conflict and on active duty during the Vietnam Conflict the author concluded 30 years of military service at the onset of the Gulf War. The world had evolved tremendously during that time and the end product of that evolution brought magic and malady. There is much to applaud, but at the same time there is the question about what happened to our moral values; and our social responsibility. What we need to realize is that “we the people” are capable and willing to take the reins of government if it didn’t require independent wealth and the backing of corrupt political parties to have the opportunity. The average man and woman in the street is cognizant of what is right and just and what is wrong and unjust. We understand that a civilized society has to have laws and that those laws have to be respected by all. It really isn’t rocket science. Rules have to include evaluation of unintended consequences regardless of the initial appearance of fairness and legitimacy. It will behoove the nation to stop demanding that their legislators be career politicians. We all have moments when we just want to vent our frustrations to any and all who are willing to listen. So, the upshot of all this palaver is this small book of observations and advice.
