Author Information...

Shirley M Polk’s dream was to write a book when she was a young girl but then life got in the way of that dream. In 2005 Shirley was faced with the prospect of open heart surgery to replace an aortic valve that had to be done within two years or face the prospect of death. Reevaluating her life she realized she had overlooked one of her biggest dreams... to write that book. She immediately began the project and soon finished writing her first novel. And in 2006 published her first book, TEXAS JEWEL. She had accomplished her dream. In 2007 Shirley had the open heart surgery and survived. During the long recovery from surgery she began to write a second book called SONG OF TOMORROW, which was published in 2013. Shirley’s new book is SMALL TOWN DIVA. “I just enjoy writing,” said Shirley.
