Well here I am again. I enjoyed sharing the stories from Middle Maddy with various reading audiences that laughed as it reminded them of their youth. I was overwhelmed by all of the positive reception from both young and old; and I’m so thankful that I was able to read my children’s book at elementary schools, community events and at the Multi-Cultural Children’s Bookstore located in Richmond, California. My many supporters, family friends, and readers made suggestions and I listened. My new book, Middle Maddy’s Mad Summer, is more animated (thanks to my granddaughter, Macky, and my grandson, Jaxson), and it includes individual questions and open discussions. As Maddy grows up and explores her world, readers learn more about her and her antics. In Middle Maddy’s Mad Summer, readers will find out Maddy’s middle name…and guess what it is????? I’m now retired from my career as a Deputy Fire Marshal, so there will be more books coming in the near future. The next in the series is Middle Maddy’s Why is Summer So Short and School So Long???? Robin Reed-Poindexter was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and currently resides in the San Francisco bay area. She is a proud mother of three and grandmother of two. Her grand-daughter was the inspiration that spark the character of Middle Maddy and brought her love for children’s literature to life! Middle Maddy successfully infuses Reed-Poindexter’s childhood experiences with the adventures of her first grand-daughter early childhood years. Robin recently retired from the City of Richmond Fire department after serving thirty-one years. She now dedicates her time to loving her grandchildren and capturing new moments to continue to write her Middle Maddy’s series.
