Product description...

An encouraging outlook on lifes struggles

“Broken Windows” is about Curtis Johnson Jr.’s journey through some of life’s storms. The hardships and trials Curtis went through are issues many of us face every day. Even if we have not faced them personally, they are issues that hit close to home; issues that many of our parents, siblings or close friends have gone through. Life can beat us down through family, illness or death. The world as we know it can be turned upside down in a heartbeat. Some of the toughest things to deal with in life are the negative people we encounter. These people often make it difficult to navigate life’s obstacles. Handling negativity and distractions are things that Curtis struggled with early in his adulthood. Not being overcome by these toxic people or situations is something that is discussed in the story. With Curtis as a lens, “Broken Windows” offers a reassuring outlook on life. The story offers uplifting examples of how to believe in yourself during times of turmoil in your life. The story also offers examples of the importance of believing in yourself because sometimes the only thing you have is yourself.

Author Information...

Curtis Johnson was born in Miami, but raised in Columbus, Georgia. He was raised by his mother, Rita, after she and his father were divorced in the early 1990s. He grew up loving football. During middle school, he played competitively. Once in high school, however, medical issues no longer allowed him to play. Having Sickle Cell disease meant no more football for Curtis. As an adult, he constantly battled Sickle Cell and avascular necrosis. Doctors told him due to his health, working was not advisable. Curtis later decided to make spreading Sickle Cell awareness one of his goals. He has two beautiful daughters from a previous marriage.
