Julia Norman, a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is an active participant and a 40-year member of the Soka Gokkai International—a Nichiren Daishonin Buddhist organization that focuses on individual happiness and world peace by way of culture, education, and dialogue. An avid writer and poet, Julia has been published in various newsletters and newspapers, and as she enjoys being in the midst of youthful energy and is nurtured by the sound of children’s laughter, she has a new children’s book in the works: When the Moon Was Afraid of the Dark. Julia resides in Atlanta, Georgia, with her wife and dog, where she has retired as a behavioral health specialist. Her hobbies are music, movies, and catering small parties.
