Product description...

Cogito ergo sum explained how Descartes had reached this conclusion; then weigh in on this famous concept’s impact on philosophy over the last four and a half centuries

Descartes life had a commencement with the Jesuit; her mother was ill when she conceived. Notwithstanding the malady of tuberculosis that she suffered, she had decided to carry the baby for nine months until giving birth to him and then died. Descartes in his turn inherited the malady because not only he was frail to say the least, but also coughing all the time. His doctor considered him as an abject enfant and lost all hope, but a nurse would not give him up as lost; she gave him the warmth and nourishment of her body. He came back to life, and maybe for that reason he was called Rene which stood for Renatus in Latin with the signification of being reborn. At the age of eight he was entered in the Jesuit College of La Fleche. Those priests took him, and seemed to ground him in Mathematics.
