What was it like working “My Corner” for well over a year? How low can one go before God plucks them out of the storm?

Even though at the writing of this testimony, I’m still standing on my corner (I just “celebrated” my first anniversary), I heard something recently that I’m carrying with me: Hope is thinking that things will get better. Faith is knowing that things will get better! So…..meet Tess. As you read her adventures, be inspired! I believe that there is some “Tess” in all of us.

Evangelist Theresa J. Stembridge has been a member of St. Matthew’s Community AME Church of Hollis under the leadership of Pastor Andrea M. Hargett for over 17 years. It is where she’s served as facilitator to a then-brand-new ministry called My Sister’s Keeper. She teaches Sunday School, conducted the New Member’s Classes, served as a Stewardess, Liturgical Dance Ministry Member, secretary for the Missionary Society and Sunday School Board, and a current member of the Health Commission. As a teenager, she fell in love with sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with anyone who seemed lost or hopeless. Today, that passion still exists, and is why she answered her call to Evangelism about four years ago in the AME Church. She is a proud mother of two wonderful young men, Curtis II and Joshua and wife for almost 30 years to the man of God that God sent her, Curtis Stembridge. After serving as a health professional for over thirty years, she is currently “re-inventing” herself as a New York City Employee. Evangelist Stembridge loves God, loves His people, and can’t wait to see what God has in store for her next on this wonderful journey called life.
