These things were inspired by the Holy Ghost due to Mr. Ward’s fasting, obedience, scripture study, and daily prayer. So that his poetic talent might be magnified and God’s wisdom can be shared poetically for the benefit of all humanity. The theme of this work was derived from King Solomon’s proverbs found in the Old Testament. It serves as a tool to help parents of all faiths (in an increasing demoralized society) teach their children good ethics and morals. Its value is priceless!

While in prison for many years, Mr. Ward an (ex-gang banger) renewed his interest in seeking God. Using the Holy Bible and literature from prominent Baptist leaders of his previous faith as his fundament course of study, he began to feel that it was more to God than what he learned from tradition. After learning from historical accounts about scriptures being removed, and the many references to missing books mentioned in the Bible, Mr. Ward maintained an open mind about the things of God. After being lead to the Book of Mormon by a non-Latter-day Saint fellow inmate during their discussion of Mr. Ward’s self interest in polygamy, Mr. Ward wanted to learn more about their faith. After studying their literature himself, Mr. Ward learned that true Latter-day Saints discontinued the practice. To his surprise, he learned that Christ visited the inhabitants mentioned in the record as a Resurrected Being. The Holy Ghost bore witness to him intensely after kneeling humbly beside his prison bunk while asking God if the record was true. He recalls that, “A peaceful, yet warm and powerful convincing feeling came over my whole spirit. The powerful witness came immediately after my final words and overcoming my shame of kneeling silently in prayer before my fellow inmates.” This renaissance moment in Mr. Ward’s life began his desire to make restitution to society for the many evils which he had done. Many years after being freed, he received the Restored Priesthood which gave him power to perform this fascinating work.
