Life in Unionville is a sweet and captivating series of short essays about two brothers growing up in a small community in Indiana. The vignettes reveal the boys’ escapades as youngsters and progress to them as young men spreading their wings. Their parents, while oftentimes displaying typical parent behavior, find themselves learning more from their children than their offspring could ever hope to gain from their folks! Lovingly scribed by the boys’ mother, Life in Unionville is a collection of memories and lessons learned—mostly by Mom and Dad: Toddler Jesse teaches his mother a little something about fairness and the importance of having a voice; Dad helps the little boys cope with monsters under their beds; Jonathan gives his brother a hard time over facial hair; and Mom scandalizes the boys by getting the first tattoo in the family! Karen Willett has worked full-time in the healthcare industry for 20 years, but has returned to a first love of writing over the past few years. Her son Jonathan, now almost 30 years old, does post-graduate work in Microbiology at University of Chicago, and Jesse, almost 24 years old, works in Information and Communication Technology at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
