George William Lloyd was a man who held steadfast in his beliefs of freedom, the Union and the word of God. Although nearly forgotten today, this 19th century man comes to life as a titanic figure who traveled through the turbulent years of the Civil War and beyond. Lloyd emerges not only through the times in which he lived, but also through his personal writings that have been miraculously preserved for over 100 years. Joe Codella is a Branchville Borough Historical Society founder and Councilman. His interests in God, writing and history have come together in this volume, his first work. Bill Bathgate is a fourth generation Branchville resident and Borough Council President. He co-founded the Branchville Borough Historical Society and is a local historian.
