About the Author
Alcina Washington-Fowler is an American writer, Spoken-Word Poet, and performing artist. She discovered her love for poetry at the age of twelve. Her passion for composing and performing poetry is a gifted blessing from God. Alcina was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois; her parents, had thirteen children together. She has always been joyful, that she and her twin sister Alison share the same birthday with their father.
Soft spoken, she found the power of sound through her writings. Many of her poems, speak stories of truth. These truths became her Testimonies, which she loves to share and hope that many people would become free from their silent pains. Her silent pain, was due to kept secrets of abuse, she endured in her past marriage. But, Great and Wonderful thanks to God, for The Power of His Deliverance. This has opened doors for Alcina to freely speak in front of others.
She was given an anointed platform, by Apostle DeWayne Hill, to speak in front the congregation of High Praise Ministries. This platform has helped her to remove fear, doubt, and insecurities. She has been performing live at her church, weddings, women conferences, and the KMOJ Northside Arts Crawl event in Minneapolis. Alcina has a heart to speak strength for purpose, to other women. They must understand that they have great dreams and visions from God.
This is the created gift that God has placed in me.
