Cheryl Rodriguez Smyre has taken events from her own life to compose Unfinished Endeavors. She has changed names, places and events to protect other parties involved. It is her hope that other young girls can claim their identities in a more positive self image.

Dreama gets herself into countless loveless relationships with emotionally unavailable men only to find heartache when the relationships end. She keeps God in her life but at times her faith waivers. Born Cheryl Alicia Rodriguez in Selma, Alabama on October 27, 1965. She was raised by her single mother who for many years battled alcoholism and depression. Cheryl lives with her husband William in Richmond, Virginia. She is the mother of Marquis, Marchelle, and Levar. She is the grandmother of Kennijah and Kamille. Cheryl is also the extended mother of 7 other children. She has been an employee of the Federal Government for 22 years.
