The Ras General is a song writer, an artist and a poet. He has written well over 300 poems on different subjects, and while some have been published in some collections and the internet, many are still unpublished. He has received many poetry awards, including international library of poetry's editor's choice awards for outstanding performance in poetry, poet of merit award, and published in its best poets and poems of 2007, an honor he had received in previous years. The Ras General(T.R.G) whose given name is Stanley O. Onwu was born in the West African country of Nigeria, and resides in New York.
